Rana Calls Himself The Terminator
Rana Daggubati is currently enjoying the success of his debut web series, “Rana Naidu.” This family crime drama received mixed reviews from the beginning, but it is gaining a lot of views on Netflix and is even topping the Top 10 list of most viewed Netflix series in India this weekend. During an interview with Bombay Journey, he talked about his corneal transplant.
He said, “I think I am one of the few guys who have spoken about corneal transplant. It was also because there was a kid whose mom had lost her eye, and he was very sad about it. I told him it’s not what it seems. Everything has a way of it, and that’s when I talked about my eye. I can’t see from my right eye, so I operate with a different view.”
He added, “Many people can become broken because of a physical problem, and even if it gets fixed, there is a certain heaviness that will still be there. I had a corneal transplant and a kidney transplant, so it’s like I am almost the Terminator. So, I said, ‘come on, I am still surviving, and you just have to keep going’.”
Talking about his right eye back in 2016, he stated, “Should I tell you one thing? I am blind in my right eye. I see only from my left eye. The one you see is someone else’s eye, which was donated to me after his death. If I close my left eye, I can see no one. LV Prasad operated on me when I was young. Study well, we will support you. Be courageous as you have to look after your family. Sorrows will go away one day, but you have to gear up and keep your family happy always.”
“Rana Naidu” stars Rana and Venkatesh in the lead roles and is an Indian adaptation of “Ray Donovan.” Along with the two lead actors, Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra, Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Ashish Vidyarthi, and others play key roles. It is made in both Hindi and Telugu. Karan Anshuman created this crime drama while Suparn Vaerma and Karan directed it, and Ananya Mody provided the story.
