‘Orange’ To Be Out On Charan’s Birthday
A new trend is taking over Tollywood, with re-releasing old films of star heroes and senior actors, giving fans a chance to relive the memorable moments from their favourite films. Last year, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Chenna Kesava Reddy celebrated its two-decade milestone with a re-release, and now, Mega Power Star Ram Charan Tej is set to follow suit with his film Orange. Riding high on his Pan-India craze, the film, which was initially labelled as a flop in Ram Charan’s career, may find a second life as it hits the screens once again.
Interestingly, Orange was once considered an underrated gem, with fans stating that the film didn’t click with the audience, as they couldn’t see Ram Charan in a romantic role after his blockbuster hit, Magadheera. According to the grapevine, Rajamouli’s supposed jinx of scoring a flop after his film also contributed to Orange’s lacklustre response.
But, this time around, Orange is set to win hearts and contribute to a cause close to Ram Charan’s heart. The film’s re-release on March 27th, coinciding with his birthday, is expected to draw crowds, with all the collections being donated to Pawan Kalyan’s political party, Janasena. While Magadheera was initially reported to be the birthday release, Orange has now taken centre stage, and we can’t wait to see if the film manages to impress audiences this time!
Directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, Orange is a romantic drama, with Ram Charan in the lead, and Genelia D’Souza and Shazahn Padamsee as the female leads. Produced by Ram Charan’s uncle, Naga Babu, the film was the actor’s third outing and was released in 2010.
