Naresh Too Confident For ‘Malli Pelli’
Excitement is building in the Telugu film industry as several highly anticipated movies are set to release on May 26th. Among them are ‘Malli Pelli,’ a romantic drama starring senior actors Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh, and ‘Ms. Shetty Mr. Polishetty,’ the much-awaited comeback film of Anushka Shetty. Naveen Polishetty, the rising star of ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’ and ‘Jathiratnalu’ fame, plays the male lead in the latter. While ‘Ms. Shetty Mr. Polishetty’ is generating significant buzz, ‘Malli Pelli’ is not far behind, as the film promises to delve into the real-life incidents of Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh, who have been embroiled in various controversies in the past.
Although films with comedians or supporting actors in lead roles have not fared well in Tollywood, Naresh seems to be confident of the success of his latest outing. The movie is said to have secured a lucrative deal for its OTT rights, and insiders suggest that Naresh is set to make a handsome profit. Despite the competition from other big-ticket releases such as Jagapathi Babu’s ‘Rudrangi’ and Siddharth’s ‘Takkar,’ as well as three Hindi and four Hollywood movies, Naresh remains optimistic about the prospects of ‘Malli Pelli.’ The film is directed by MS Raju, known for his previous work in the romance genre, but has shifted his focus to adult love stories in recent times.
It remains to be seen how the audience will respond to ‘Malli Pelli,’ given the stiff competition and the genre shift of its director. Nonetheless, the May 26th release date promises to be a treat for cinema-goers, with several highly anticipated movies across languages hitting the screens. Superstar Krishna’s ‘Mosagallaku Mosagaadu’ is also set to release on May 31st, adding to the excitement in the Telugu film industry.
